The party of Abraham Lincoln on February 22nd returned to Oregon in electing its new officers. At least 250,000 non-affiliated Oregon voters who voted for Dennis Richardson in 2016 may decide to return to the Republican Party which is now the Trump GOP

The new officers come with excellent skills that President Donald J. Trump will admire. The new chair, Jerry Cummings, will also please voters in Washington State having lived in both states with positions of leadership, particularly around parliamentary expertise giving the body on February 22nd, a gentle and humorous taste in demonstrating how a well run meeting is done. At the end of two long days, Chair ended those two days with the body being energized and laughing. As a Baptist minister some in the body reflected he seems a pastor who manifests his work in the true nature of the Gospel, that of being "joyous".

Vice-Chair Connie Whelchel, MBA manifests the same type of joy energy coupled with an accomplished background in business operations and grass roots organizing

Connie was chair of Deshcutes County Republican Party. The new solid team is rounded out by Glenn Miller (no, not the band leader), ORP treasurer who manifests the same goodwill towards all and has a solid background in all things financial to keep ORP solidly legal in all its transactions. Being a director in the Hillsborough School District he protected student and parental rights.

The old guard, that perhaps 250,000 Republicans fled from for maybe over a decade, is now getting a lesson that the party of Abraham Lincoln and Donald J. Trump means it is a true return to the principles and values of the first party created in 1854. A party that believed in the First Amendment Rights.

An old guard member rose to ask the new chair to give a directive that party business may NOT be broadcast on social media. Cummings succinct and immediate response was, "It's the First Amendment."

The newly elected officers have not only brought in their principled uplift, the chair candidates who did not win stay with the ORP in new roles including the ORP will now have a DOGE committee headed up by candidate, Angelita Sanchez whose history includes defeating Cap and Trade and Ranked Choice Voting.

Washington County Chair, Gabriel Buehler enthusiastically endorsed the new chair during the voting process by withdrawing his name in the final round. Gabe has headed up Washington County in the good work they've been doing with election integrity.

Proud Boy endorsed Ben Edtl will likely continue on with individual efforts as opposed to coming into the new team in some fashion, but ran his campaign with goodwill and doesn't have an issue with any of the newly elected officers.

Trump supporters were quite pleased with the day and the outcome of the organizational meeting. The party contains one former Brooklyn guy, precinct committee person, Ralph (3rd on the left) who has that engaging New York City, Brooklyn Trump style of ease in his direct communication pattern, in a good will fashion.

Up and until the election of the new chair, the old ORP was still at working trying to ban duly elected PCPs from attending the meeting, including one of them, Dan Tooze, harassed demanding to know if she was duly qualified to be at the meeting.

The old guard seated the illegitimate Multnomah County Republican Party (MCRP) officials, including chair Joseph Whitcomb and treasurer, Judy Masterson, both who were involved in the illegal Recall Coup on MCRP chair, Stephen Lloyd, on May 6, 2021. The old guard refused to accept written testimony from a duly elected PCPs, returning it to the duly elected PCP before the meeting started. ORP secretary Jo Rae Perkins running for chair had in the two weeks before refused to address the Recall Coup on Lloyd, writing she was too busy to go look for records.

In her speech to become chair, Jo Rae asked who in the audience had voted for her. Quite a few raised their hands Jo Rae said, "Good, now vote for me today."

Only eight voted for Jo Rae Perkins. She left before the end of the day.

National Committee Woman, Traci Honyl was a bit too enthusiastic about returning the card to the duly elected PCP.

Jo Rae Perkins in her interview with Town Hall 2025 Daniel Crowe, stated no holds barred that, no, she was against party transparency. She voiced that the ORP was a "family:, that it was "family business" that the ORP was "private", that it was not open to the public, which meant not open to even regular Oregon Republican citizens.

The recall coup on Stephen Lloyd in May 2021 with the help of the Proud Boy, Dan Tooze, was because Stephen was open to having even regular registered Republican voters to be able to attend all MCRP meetings.

Jo Rae Perkins had the lowest number of votes at the organizational meeting on February 22, 2025.

Chair Justin Hwang must have sense the new blooming of the party as he withdrew his name for consideration before the voting process started.

Now ORP has new uplifted Party officers and a dramatic change may now occur in Oregon.

Ben Edtl running for ORP Chair is bringing a verbal flamethrower to the Oregon Republican Party statewide meeting in Portland, Oregon on February 22nd.

On a campaign promise to return power to the neighborhood duly elected Precinct Committee Persons (PCPs), not even Ben Edtl is aware of the paradigm shift that would bring to the party.

Accurate Ben is concerning the unholy alliance between the ORP and the Republican Caucus. Ben instinctively put his finger on the core issue even as Ben has not reviewed the ORS 248 law and comparing it to the ORP by-laws. Once Ben has done that, and perhaps before the Saturday statewide meeting in Portland, Ben will see the proper and easy fix to the by-laws is for ORP to include all of ORS 248 into their by-laws.

Once ORP opted out of 20 subsections of ORS 248 chaos was launched by at least 2005, then each succeeding year it went more and more out of control with weeping, gnashing of teeth, wailing and cowering in fear on one hand. On the other hand spewing out vindictive anger, the banning of free speech and assembly, with Proud Boys patrolling meetings and venue. These behavior patterns became the normative cultural characteristics into such counties as the Multnomah Republican County Party (MCRP) and the Clackamas County Republican Party (CCRP).

The only ORS 248 for legally recalling any elected person in the party is for only duly elected PCPs. And those PCPs can only be recalled by the voters in the precinct where they were elected.

With that opting out of ORS 248 came the Palace Intrigue Soap Opera years of changing the by-laws to be flexible in who they might not like and might like to attack to get those they determined were "not Real Republicans), to shut them up, to ban them, to kicked out of the party. The most recent was the Recall Coup on MCRP Chair Stephen Lloyd on May 6, 2021 where they added The Proud Boys to the Soap Opera to stop supporters of Lloyd's from even going into the meeting. Not a flicker seemed to cross the minds of ORP, MCRP or CCRP that their actions and behaviors were violations of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Ben Edtl's rollicking roller coaster ride actions come from a man who seemingly gets up each day and goes, "Hey, let's give this a shot."   Ben's Town Hall 2025 interview shows a man who is just going to keep going with no hard feelings towards anyone if he isn't elected on February 22nd at the statewide ORP meeting in Portland, Oregon. Those liking interviews with a refreshing punch might like to view this Town Hall.   Ben Edtl - Candidate for Oregon Republican Party Chair

Ben's verbal grenades have been landing on such Oregon State senators as David Brock Smith one of the state senators who walked back in to allow HB 2002, the Mengele/Gosnell bill to pass into law giving doctors who kill babies and mutilate children immunity. The law even invited convicted felons from other states to apply for those jobs. Law and Order Republicans allowed this bill to pass into law in 2023?

The caucus Republican Leadership of David Brock Smith, Dan Bonham, Jeff Helfrich (a 25 year Portland Police officer) and Rep. Ed Diehl told Republican women in 2024 to hush about those babies and children, that the winning GOP strategy was to just get some more of those 4000 homeless addicts in downtown Portland into prison. Well, they didn't win.

Ben goes Full Metal Jacket on the Republican Caucus Leadership in the Town Hall interview.

Where did this pattern and history in Oregon of not protecting babies and children start? Looks like it first started when two Republicans allowed abortion to become legal in Oregon in 1969. And as happens with crazy, it just gets crazier as time moves on, thus in Oregon in 2022 tampons went into boys' restrooms in the public schools.

Ben Edtl is enthusiastically fully onboard with Trump and Elon Musk's DOGE team.

The MCRP and Clackamas County Republican Party (CCRP) websites continued to show from 2020 onward they were not Donald J. Trump supporters. CCRP uses the term "MAGA" to sell merchandise. None of their merchandise, except for a pair of earrings, shows any images of Trump.

In 2020 ORP didn't want the MCRP girls manning the Recall Kate Brown tables all summer on Burnside in Portland, Oregon to wear Trump gear. But they did anyway.

True Trump supporters were not afraid and they were friendly to everyone driving by even to those who were angry.

This core group sold $14,000.00 of Trump merchandise that summer, all credit going to the leadership skills of Cheryl Bowen, vice-chair of MCRP at that time. She worked full-time and was out in the county and other counties as well helping them do their recall tables.

Ben Edtl having grown up in a liberal Democrat family in Southeast Portland has as unafraid and pleasant engagement in all areas of Portland, Oregon. Ben is being Trump and Musk friendly towards all.

The ORP in pulling together this statewide meeting for Saturday, the ORP leadership was selective in who they invited. All PCPs were not invited. As more heard about it and signed up to come, they were told no that the venue was full. But it is not full.

ORP leadership is so out of touch through having opted out of ORS 248 perhaps 20 years ago they have no problem putting together a statewide meeting and simply telling PCPs that they may not attend. ORP wrote to a PCP that the venue was "full" at 180 registered. The venue has a capacity of 275. ORP could easily add a few more.
Having devolved down to a private club party they only see themselves and delegates as the elite PCPs in the ORP. The MCRP and CCRP mimicks their behaviors and attitudes.

Let the other duly elected PCPs eat cake, but not at their functions.

Friday, February 14, 2025

It's unclear when the Oregon Republican Party and the Multnomah County Republican Party went lawless, but it happened at the point the ORP opted out of complying with ORS 248.012 to 248.315. TPNW stands by its analysis that the May 6, 2021 Recall of MCRP Chair Stephen Lloyd was a Coup

The Oregon Republican Party (ORP) and Multnomah County Republican Party (MCRP) "leadership" are filled with individuals who respond as though they have no idea about the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, let alone the intent of ORS 248, the law governing the two major Oregon political parties. ORS 248.029 shows only Precinct Committee Persons (PCPs) can be recalled, and a PCP can only be recalled by the registered Republican neighbors in their precinct, and not by party officials.

By the ORP opting out of some 20 subsections of ORS 248, it caused a breeding ground for chaos, confusion, raging, lots of yelling, lawlessness, bringing out of the shadows Machiavellian type characters who are drawn to the drama of Palace Intrigues, Soap Operas and Proud Boy patrols, which then spread to other counties who decided they wanted those kind of adrenaline fueled moments as well. Not all counties have opted out.

Truth in the Pacific Northwest editor as well as a duly elected PCP (Precinct Committee Person) was advised in writing by ORP secretary Jo Rae Perkins that Perkins had no time to search the ORP files for documents to determine if the recall of MCRP chair, Stephen Lloyd, on May 6, 2021 was valid or not. Jo Rae is one of the nominees running to be elected ORP chair at the February 22nd state meeting of the ORP.

In an August 2024 email Perkins wrote ORP cannot intervene in county parties unless an ORP by-law was violated. Jo Rae was advised the state ORP by-laws as well as the MCRP by-laws were violated when an immediate election was not taken after the recall vote on May 6, 2021 regarding MCRP Chair, Stephen Lloyd. The recall, thus, was null and void.

The article describing the issue was written, published and sent to the ORP secretary.      https://truthinthepacificnorthwest.blogspot.com/2025/02/something-very-odd-is-going-on-with.html

ORP secretary's response reflects the long time, long held cultural characteristics of keeping secrets from registered Republican Oregon voting citizens. Secrecy is a long standing problem which started before 2018 when MCRP held secret meetings based on "fears" some executive committee members had, and still have. In addition, Joseph Whitcomb directed duly elected PCPs to not attend the MCRP monthly meetings.

The ORP secretary's emails show that after the recall of chair Stephen Lloyd, in May of 2021, a new election of "chair" Joseph Whitcomb didn't happen until 2022.

The recall was a violation of both MCRP and ORP by-laws.

The ORP secretary refuses to address the issue of Whitcomb's election being invalid, per violating the MCRP and ORP by-laws before the statewide February 22nd meeting as it appears all elections after the May 2021 recall are invalid, thus none of the officers and delegates of the MCRP can vote in the statewide election on February 22nd.

It's quite the quandary, quite the predicament as a new ORP chair and other officers are to be voted in on February 22nd. What continues to exist is a Weekend at Bernie's situation, as the MCRP has been reported to be dead and the ORP secretary refuses to do an autopsy. An ORP officer's duty is to uphold the by-laws, and that it be based on documented records coupled with citing By-laws and subsection of by-laws in writing.

Another request for ORP records documenting if ORP did or if ORP did not make a determination regarding the recall of MCRP chair, Stephen Lloyd, was made.

ORP secretary response was that it was poor timing to bring up an issue of violations of ORP and MCRP by-laws before the meeting to elect the new ORP chair and other offices of the Oregon Republican Party on February 22nd.

If the recall group violated the MCRP and ORP by-laws in May 2021 then the entire slate of current MCRP office holders and delegates cannot be seated and cannot vote at the ORP statewide meeting on February 22nd.

Of concern regarding "chair" Joseph Whitcomb and his election, it now is said to have been sometime in 2022, which was over six months past the recall of MCRP chair, Stephen Lloyd. Reviewing Whitcomb's work, the last time the MCRP Twitter account was used was in January of 2022 posting DeSantis tweets.

What cannot be found is working evidence MCRP supported the election of President Donald J. Trump in in 2020 or 2024 via X or via Facebook as some administrator on May 11, 2021 a few days after the Recall Coup on MCRP Chair Stephen Lloyd took place, their Facebook page was shutdown. Other Oregon Republican candidates for office were posting on that MCRP Facebook page, candidates for school board elections were posting on that Facebook page. Whoever shut it down that admins' name is now not found on that page. The faux MCRP leaders haven't posted on that page since May 2021.

Of further concern with the MCRP "leadership" is a "Survey" was sent out about the statewide election on February 22nd asking who elected Precinct Committee People (PCPs) want for the ORP positions. The concern is that the survey can be taken multiple times, thus open for corrupt purposes.

Given the history of the last seven years, the pattern of chaos, anger, confusion, lawlessness, and now the ORP secretary refusing to get into the ORP files and pull out any documents if they exist to make a determination on what happened on May 6, 2021, the spectacular in-fighting will continue unless the rightfully elected MCRP chair, Stephen Lloyd, is returned to that county party office and can lead the county party into creating a lawful party structure by simply obeying all of ORS 248.

Patterns, habits and behaviors once they become a group norm, they will not change if the underlying structure of the group is based on lawlessness.
