Library board meeting went well with both sides of the packed meeting testifying regarding creation of child environments inviting to child predators. When TPNW editor opened the women's restroom door, a man by the door stared directly, silently, unpleasantly making eye contact. Taken aback thinking a mistake had been made, that it was the men's restroom, retreated, only to discover it WAS the women's restroom.
Security when informed said, "She's a woman didn't you see her breasts?." Sharing discomfort regarding the incident, security doubled down, "She has big breasts!" Meatloaf in Fight Club had big breasts. That didn't make him a girl.
The male security guard dressed up as a biker needs to know when women enter the women's restroom they don't scan the room either to look at women's breasts or stare directly into a woman's eyes. Women don't stare at other women who walk into the restroom to go to the bathroom. Two women washing their hands at the same time may make a friendly comment about the weather or the holiday season, but that's about it. Women know this. Men don't.
One woman testified by playing the video of a Gay man telling these so-called drag queens engaging children to, "Knock it off" regarding men dressed as ugly sexualized clown women rolling around the floor with children on them. In Jan. 2020, drag queen Kitty Demure
released a video speaking out against parents who want to expose their children to drag queens.
It's been hard enough he said for gay men with many thinking all gay men are pedophiles. He was saying, "Stop it."
Someone in the 'We want This' crowd called out, "That's just one gay man." The "We want This' side crowd, triggered by the gay man's criticism, some made vocal comments, guffaws and scoffs, they wanted the woman testifying to not play Kitty Demure's video.
When Carla Rossi, Portland, Oregon "drag queen", was confronted about children rolling all over him at the St. Johns Library in
Portland, how did he respond? If Rossi doesn't know, he needs to get educated and to know how sex offenders blame the kids.
The library director, Amelia Shelly to-date from 2018 to 2023 has had no interest in studying the patterns and characteristics of sex offenders.
When Gary Wilson testified to the library board, he held up Clare Apparently's Miss Frizzle and the Magic School pedo grooming poster (whether Clare did it wittingly or unwittingly), out came out from the 'We want This' contingent, a wolf whistle. The protecting children safety contingent of the night did not laugh or scoff at the mostly young people engaging in those kinds of vocalizations.
Not showing up to the January 17, 2022 Library board meeting was the Columbian Newspaper who with their false reporting agitated and caused young people to believe the adults in the room were bad guys:
One young woman who chuckled and smirked quite a bit related to the Clare Apparently poster when TPNW asked her why she was laughing, she gave TPNW her website name saying did some kind of sex show similar to the poster? But it was a subscription to see her act, she said. The name she gave did not show up when an internet search was done thus TPNW is not reporting the name she gave at the library board meeting.
Some young people claimed the adults in the room were "obsessed with sex". Board members and Library director Amelia Shelly (on the right) in photo.
The adults in the room keeping their composure and kindness resulted in people from both sides of the issue having conversations after the meeting. Some of the young people were well read in some of the classics in literature and were right about book banning of some of those classic books.
And they were very directly accurate about the sexual/emotional/spiritual trauma and rapes that happen to children in the Catholic and other churches, and in the Boy Scouts. There have been young people at board meetings who shared that they had been traumatized as children. Thus the meeting, given the new board's respect for both sides and their role modeling of respect the meeting ended with some folks from both camps having a glimpse that real dialogue can continue in the future.
Truth in the Pacific Northwest will contact the Columbian Newspaper to find out why no one was at the library board meeting from the Columbian, one of the few family owned newspapers still in existence in the United States.
